the AXIS story
Our leader AXISpara was founded in the Czech Republic by Radek Šimoník in 1990 as a hangliding school. The paragliding school was added shortly after, along with the shop.
The company continued like this until 1997, when the manufacture of reserve parachutes and back protectors was started.
A logical step from this was the production of paragliders, which started in 2001.
AXIS now offer a full range of paragliders, from school gliders to the competition pilots favourite, the Mercury as well as reserve systems, harness' and accessories.

Gliders are constructed by Ing.František Pavloušek and his team of experts, all of them top competition pilots, who are able to use their wide experience in all types of conditions to test the gliders to their fullest.
Franta is a long-time member of the Czech National Team, a pilot from 1987, a local legend as well as a leader of the AXIS competition team.
The chief test pilot is David Ohlídal, recent vice-champion of the Czech Republic and placed 3rd in The World Cup 2005. David began flying in 1992, he is also a talented acro pilot.
