AXIS race training

Race Training in Mayrhofen
AXIS UK team pilot Kelly Farina will be running an XC course where you can use all your newly refined techniques in a true race.
The final weekend of the course can involve competing in the Zillertal Open 2008 alongside AXIS UK team members and many of the Austrian national team.
The Austrian league is some of the best race training in the European calendar. If the weather plays ball expect some fast racing over incredible terrain.

AXIS Mercury 2008 (Competition)
The new Mercury 2008 will begin production this month with the first gliders ready for delivery in February 2008.
The canopy remains the same as the highly successful Mercury 2007.
In summary the changes are:
- redesigned wing tip giving improved air flow
- double command brakes for sharper carving
- new risers with improved speed system

Colour scheme and design remain the same as 2007 - custom colours are available on request

AXIS Compact II (Small) certified EN-A
The new school glider Compact II is now available in 3 sizes with weight ranges from 55kg - 120kg.
The small size has just passed certification (EN-A) and production begins immediately.
The Compact II is one of few gliders with the new EN-A certification, equivalent to a DHV 1 certification.
AXIS designer, Franta, says "Our main goal in construction of this glider was a very high passive safety without compromising  performance - we are very happy with what we have achieved"

AXIS VENUS II
News from the factory today - Our performance glider the Venus has been improved!
We are in the final stages of trimming the glider and expect to pass certification in the category EN-D.
We will start manufacture of pre-production models next month for testing scheduled in the New Year.
Venus II with a flat aspect ratio of 6.30 and glide ratio of 9.7 is expected to offer the aspiring competition pilot or experienced cross-country pilot superb handling and performance with the passive safety of a certified glider. Full technical data will be available soon

AXIS mini-gliders : radio controlled models
We have a gaggle of radio controlled model paragliders on order in the AXIS design and colour schemes. They arrive ready to fly with canopy, pilot and harness and servos.

World Cup tour 2007 - AXIS 3rd Team Overall
The Tucùman event has now finished and the AXIS factory team are 3rd overall in the team event behind Advance and Macpara.
Keiko Hiraki flying the Mercury XS takes 3rd place in the womens overall ranking. Primoz Podobnik finishes 6th overall, David Ohlidal 9th, Martin Orlik 16th, Michal Sneiberg 39th and Keiko 54th. Congratulations to the whole team!
AXIS UK team member Kai Coleman recovered well from the initial drama of his glider being lost in transit to finish the competition in a very respectable 57th place. Well done Kai!

Our newest competition team member Kelly Farina, had a great result coming 16th overall on the Mercury 2007 (size xs) in the British Open final round in St André.

Mark Watts 6th Overall in the British Open St André
'Wagga' Watts flying the AXIS Mercury 2007 won 2 tasks in the final round of the British Championship series in St André last weekend to finish 6th overall in both the Open competition and the British Championship 2007.

Kelly Farina, British team member 2006 and long time resident of the Zillertal valley in Austria ( www.austrianarena.com) joins Mark Watts & Kai Coleman as a member of the AXIS UK team competing in the final round of the British Championship in St. Andre this coming week.
Kelly, Mark and Kai are all flying the Mercury 2007.

  Read Steve U's first impressions of the AXIS Vega II
Steve Uzochukwu (aka Randombloke) flew the VegaII for the first time today .. read Steve's views on www.pgforum.com or download the post here.
Mark Graham (uk) has probably (unless you know better - if so please let us know!) flown more 100km+ flights on the VegaII (small EN-B) than anyone so far. His flight from Bradwell to the coast south of Grimsby is the 5th longest flight in the UK XC league this year. Read Marks opinion of the Vega II.

AXIS UK are sponsoring the British paragliding XC league & offering a £400 discount -off rrp- on any new AXIS glider. The prize will be awarded to the highest ranked pilot flying an EN-B or DHV 1/2 glider

 
AXIS UK team members Mark Watts and Kai Coleman flying the AXIS Mercury 2007 are both currently in the top 10 of the league. Mark Graham flying the small Vega II flew 137km for what is currently the longest flight by an EN-B or DHV 1/2 glider in this years league.

'Wagga' Watts has joined the AXIS UK team. Mark will be flying the AXIS Mercury 2007 in the British Nationals & the XC league this year. Mark will have the full range of demo gliders available in the south of England. Just email us if you want to test fly any glider.

Kai Coleman flew the AXIS Mercury 2007 to 12th place overall in the British Open in Piedrahita and 5th overall in the British Championships - Congratulations! Kai is joining British team members Mark Watts & Nicky Moss in the AXIS UK team.

World Cup Ibaraki, Japan
Congratulations to the AXIS World Cup team with 3 podium places in Japan. Primoz 1st, David 3rd & Keiko 1st woman. After the first round the AXISpara team are 2nd in the team ranking just 1 point behind Aerotact. The second round takes place in June in Àger, Spain. The Manilla XC Open
During the Manilla XC Open the new Vega II proved its worth and placed top DHV2 ( EN-C ). Mark Graham flew a personal best of 189km on the Vega II & Nicky Moss on the Venus flew 150km for her personal best flight.
