Pluto II

PLUTO II

Pluto II is a glider for both beginner and intermediate recreational pilots. It has good passive safety and excellent performance with the easy and precise handling that is a feature of all our gliders.

Pluto II is based on the very popular Pluto but we can confidently say that it has been improved in all its characteristics. The handling is easy but precise, whilst security has been proven by the EN-B test result. The glider has an innate 'self-centering' tendency in thermals along with a greater top speed and improved glide ratio.
These qualities make the Pluto II appeal to a wide range of pilots from complete beginners to those advancing into cross country flying.
Pluto II is destined to be one of the top performing recreational gliders in its category.

The profile of the Pluto II minimises the pendulum effect in flight and increases canopy stability in turbulent conditions. The proven method of diagonal reinforcement at the attachment points of A, B and C lines allows a reduction in lines without affecting canopy rigidity. This is further enhanced by the use of quality new material on the leading edge to improve durability.

Pluto II uses our Differential Speed System (DSS) which enables the pilot to achieve a higher top speed -of around 50km/hour - without the risk of collapse!

All sizes are certified as EN-B. This is a wing which offers the pilot proven passive safety as well as a sensation of great security in flight.
The Pluto II is exceptionally easy to launch without any tendency to overshoot. The feeling of confidence that the Pluto II inspires allows rapid progression and development of piloting skills.

Materials

Upper and lower surface :
- Skytex 9017 40g/m2 with E77A "water repellent" finish for optimum UV resistance (colours)
- Skytex 9017 40g/m2 with E38A "medium" finish (white)
- Skytex 9092 45g/m2 with E85A finish for durability on the leading edge
Profile - ribs (white) :
- Skytex 9017 40 g/m2 with E29A "hard finish"
- Skytex 9017 40 g/m2 with E38A "medium" finish

Reinforcement is Porcher Marine Scrimm W240 which maintains the configuration and flight characteristics.
Lines
The lines are Liros PPSL, with a core of dyneema which offers minimal stretching and much higher durability.
The lines are secured in place on the maillons by plastic inserts.
